Massage Modalities

CranioSacral Technique also known as CST was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John E. Upledger following extensive scientific studies from 1975 to 1983 at Michigan State University, where he served as a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics. CST complements the body's natural healing processes and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including migraines, chronic neck and back pain, TMJ and many more.  Anyone of any age can benefit from this technique.

Myofascial Release or MFR was developed by John F. Barnes, P.T.,L.M.T. Myofascial restrictions can occur from trauma, surgery and inflammatory processes. Trauma and inflammatory responses create myofascial restrictions that can produce pressures of approximately 2000 lbs per square inch on pain sensitive structures that do not show up in any standard tests (x rays, MRI's, cat scans, etc.)  This enormous pressure acts like a "straight jacket" on muscles, nerves, blood vessels and osseous structures producing pain, headaches and restriction of motion and disease. John Barne's MFR technique helps to relieve these restrictions.

Therapeutic Massage offers the client a fullbody session directed toward relaxation and stress reduction. The cumulative effect of swedish massage and bodywork is realized in a body that is more relaxed, increasingly flexible, and able to recover more quickly from minor injuries or muscular stresses. Basic acupressure, MFR and CST techniques may be incorporated into the session to address problems related to other systems of the body.

Acupressure is a technique applying hand or finger pressure to specific energetic or conductive points on the body called accupoints regulating and balancing the body's energy system, releasing blocked energy, stale blood and lymph from the tissues and improves circulation. Often called acupuncture without needles.
